         Mr. Zavistoski worked for 25 years as a police officer in Middlesex County, New Jersey.  He started his law enforcement career with the Monore Township Police Department in 1981 and retired from the Piscataway Township Police Department in 2007.  His duties included assignments as a Detective and as a motorcycle patrol officer.

        Mr. Zavistoski also served fourteen years in the United States Navy Reserves. He worked as an Intelligence Specialist which required a Top Secret clearance. His service included time aboard the USS Kearsarge (LHD3), the ship that was used to launch U.S. Marines to rescue U.S. Air Force Pilot, Captain Scott O'Grady, whose F-16 was shot down over Bosnia on June 2, 1995.  Mr. Zavistoski was Honorably Discharged as a Petty Officer First Class (E6) in February of 2006.

       Mr. Zavistoski graduated from The University of Miami School of Law (Cum Laude) in May of 2011 and proudly passed the New Jersey Bar Exam (on his first try) on November 17, 2011.

        In 2012 Mr. Zavistoski worked for The New Jersey Office of the Attorney General as a Deputy Attorney General, in the Specialized Crime Bureau. There he prosecuted cases involving, cargo theft, motor vehicle document fraud, unemployment fraud and antitrust matters.

       From 2013 to 2016 Mr. Zavistoski worked for a law firm in Ocean County that had contracts to provide for Municipal Court Prosecutors in several municipalities.  In that capacity Mr. Zavistoski served as the Municipal Prosecutor in some 23 courts. Those courts included; Beach Haven, Beachwood, Berkeley, Brick, Eagleswood, Holmdel, Jackson, Lacey, Little Egg Harbor, Long Beach, Manchester, Ocean Gate, Ocean, Pine Beach, Plumsted, Pt. Pleasant Beach, Pt. Pleasant Boro, Stafford, South Toms River, Surf City, Toms River, Tuckerton and Wall Twp.  Given that large caseload Mr. Zavistoski was virtually in court all day, every day, during that period. It is estimated that Mr. Zavistoski has prosecuted over 60,000 municipal court cases, over 5,000 Drunk Driving cases, thousands of drug charges and countless motor vehicle violations.  Moreover, Mr. Zavistoski estimates that he tried over 200 cases including winning Drunk Driving trials against some of the State’s top DWI defense attorneys.  Most notably, Mr. Zavistoski received specialized training in the area of prosecuting DWI (Alcohol-Alcotest) cases and DWI (Drug-DRE) cases, conducted by the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, The New Jersey State Police and the Ocean County Prosecutors Office.

       On October 16, 2016 Mr. Zavistoski went into private practice and founded his own law firm “The Law Office of Robert Zavistoski” to utilize the skills he honed as a Municipal Prosecutor in the defense of Municipal Court clients. Most importantly, Mr. Zavistoski does not do wills, personal injury cases, real estate closings, landlord tenant disputes, small claims court, divorces, workers compensation or “whatever walks in the door”. As a solo practitioner Mr. Zavistoski does not believe in the "Jack-of-all-trades" approach to providing legal services.  Mr. Zavistoski takes great pride in devoting 100% of his law practice to defending clients in Municipal Court.
